The drill unit and the tapping unit are very similar in appearance, the difference between the two, is that the drill unit has only clockwise motion for drilling and its advance speed is also adjustable. This unit has two movement phases:
First the initial movement, which is a quick jump and reaches the workpiece, then in the second movement where the movement feed is slow.
The slow feed can be adjusted as needed, and the unit can quickly return to its original position as soon as the drilling is completed, but the cylinder’s motion is only clockwise.
In the tapping unit, the movement is clockwise, and at the end, when the work is completed, it becomes counter clockwise, and returns to the initial position; also its movement speed is not adjustable. The progress of this unit is based on the tapping step size.
For example, when tapping a hole with a step size of 2, the advance of the tapping unit will be two millimeters per round and its speed will not change, i.e. we no longer have the initial jump and slow feed movement.
